Monday, Monday

Not much to say today.

We didn't have school today and we had planned on going to the Children's Museum, but Nathan threw up this morning. I was worried that it was that stomach virus going around, but he was absolutely fine the rest of the day. We are all suffering with our allergies right now and I think it was just the cough + drainage.

So, Mark and the boys went outside to play again today. I did some laundry and when Lauren went down for her nap, I did too.

Lauren had a doctor's appointment this afternoon to get a shot that they didn't have at her last check up. She didn't even cry. Just one little "wah" and then she was smiling again.

We got our practice schedule for t-ball and Mark called all the parents to let them know that our first practice is TOMORROW. He is so excited! He took Sean to Academy to get some baseball musts.

I asked him to stop at the store for some things that I needed and he forgot, so I ran to Wal-Mart to get it. I didn't mind though; I bought some more scrapbooking supplies while I was there I remembered some other things to get.

Sorry for the very boring post...you're so kind if you are still reading!

I'll leave you with a couple of pictures to compare:

Yesterday & Today

There is no happy homemaker post today. I had an awful, terrible, very painful headache all day today. It's gone now and so I'm catching up on the past couple of days:

I wrote a post yesterday and I guess I didn't publish it or save it because it seems to have disappeared! Or I was dreaming!

We had a really quiet day yesterday. Nathan woke up not feeling well and had a low grade fever, so we gave him some pain medicine and he ended up taking a 5 hour nap!

While he slept, I cleaned and played with Lauren when she was awake. This is Lauren while I was cleaning the boys' room - playing with one of their dinosaurs:

Mark and Sean practiced baseball outside most of the day and then Mark had a t-ball meeting in the afternoon.

Nathan woke up feeling so much better and ate a really good dinner. I cooked hamburger pattis with gravy, mashed potatoes, and black eyed peas. Nathan wasn't able to have the hamburger but he had the potatoes with black eyed peas and also some green peas and carrots that were left over! He's such a good little eater and eats almost anything!

I was reading an article though on your tonsils and adenoids and it said that when you're tonsils & adenoids are larger than normal it can effect your smell which effects your taste. I had noticed that Nathan has been smelling a lot of things and I hope that he doesn't start not eating his vegetables and fruits if the taste is different to him now!

We had Mothers Day Out today. Nathan stayed home with Mark just to get that one extra day of rest. As I said, I had a major headache all day long. I used to get really bad headaches all the time as a child until we discovered that I needed glasses and I don't get them very often anymore. When I do though, they really bother me. I also HATE taking medicine. Someone offered me some Excedrin today, but I wouldn't take it because I have never taken it before and I didn't know how it would make me feel!

By the end of the day, my head was hurting so bad I felt sick and was kind of worried about driving home. I only live a few minutes away though and I made it home fine. I came in, took a hot shower, and went to bed. I woke up at 7:30pm to a really bad thunderstorm. Mark had cooked dinner and fed the kids and had them all dressed for bed!

Now I am wide awake and wondering what to do - ha! I mentioned that I went to Michaels on Saturday...well, I bought a bunch of scrapbook paper because they were having a good sale on it. I have purchased a lot of scrap booking supplies over the past year and I really wanted to scrapbook, but I just can't get into it. I just organize all my photos by date in albums, which you saw in my last post. I do like making things with scrapbook paper though ~ it is so pretty! Like the clipboards that I've posted on here before and cards. I made this small photo album for my grandma last Mother's Day:

I bought one of those little photo albums that holds 24 pictures and took out the front and back page and replaced them with this:

Front cover: A picture of me and grandma, quote: Perfect love sometimes does not come until the first grandchild. ~ Welsh Proverb, and random word punch outs.

Inside cover: Punch out in the middle of the flower says "Memories" and I just listed different memories of things we have done, separating them with a heart stamp.

Inside back cover: Different quotes about grandmas: "A grandmother is a little bit teacher, a little bit parent, and a little bit best friend." "Grandma's heart is a patchwork of love." "If nothing is going well call your grandmother." "You do not really understand something unless you can explain it to your grandmother." "Grandmothers are just "antique" little girls." "A garden of love grows in a grandmother's heart." "Grandmothers hold our tiny hands for just a little while, but our hearts forever."

Outside back cover: Just a punch out frame with paper and fabric flowers and a LOVE metal embellishment in the middle.

I am looking for more ideas of things to make with all my scrap booking supplies!

Here are some pictures of the boys at the Monster Truck Jam Saturday night:

The boys had a really good time. They didn't get home until after 11pm and they were exhausted. I was surprised they even made it through the whole show!

We're supposed to be having some very cold weather and possible ice and snow by the end of the week. I need to go to the store tomorrow to get some groceries so we can eat because I don't get out in cold! Or snow. Or ice!

Other than that, I have a lot of things to do for our Valentines Party at school on Wednesday, so I'm hoping that the kids will cooperate and I get stuff done!

Speaking of kids, I am still trying to get them in the bed. They just won't give it up!

The This And That Of A Lazy Day

It's been a very lazy day for me.

I started feeling really bad last night and Mark let me sleep in until 11:30 this morning! I could have stayed in bed a little longer, but thought I better get up to make sure my kids were being fed see my children.

I just let myself get too stressed out and worn down this past week and now I have some kind of head cold.

Every year since Sean turned 2, Mark, his dad, his brother, and Sean have been going to the Monster Truck Jam when it comes in February. We bought Nathan a ticket this year so that he could go. We weren't going to let him go after all that he has been through this week, but he was doing so well and at the last minute we decided to let him go. Also, he now realizes when Sean gets to do something and he doesn't and it really hurts his feelings.

Uncle Joe sent me this pictures on my cell phone of the boys wearing their ear muffs on the way to see the Monster Trucks:

They were both so excited and after they got there, Mark called to say that they were having a blast.

I was going to just veg out on the couch with Lauren and watch some girly movies, but with no boys in the house I was itching to get out. So, I loaded Lauren in her car seat and off we went to Kohls and Michaels.

I bought some photo albums at Kohls and a cute little Valentines Bib for Lauren. I am working on organizing all my 2009 photos. One weekend last year, Mark and the boys went out of town. I was huge and pregnant and decided to stay home and relax. Instead of relaxing, I organized 8 years worth of photos and put them in order in albums. All in one weekend. Pictures from the time Mark and I started dating to the very last day of 2008.

15 albums and my back was killing me by the time I was finished.

I want to finish 2009 and get caught up so that I can hopefully stay caught up!

These are the ones I bought tonight:

I bought the sports one so that I can put Sean's soccer pictures in and since we just signed him up for t-ball add those pictures too.

I also bought this little cute one for my mom (surprise mom!):

Back to T-ball...we signed Sean up last weekend and Mark put down that he would like to coach. While we were in the hospital with Nathan, he got the call that he was accepted as coach and needed to be at a coach's meeting Friday night. He went and he is on cloud 9. Baseball is Mark's sport. He likes all sport, but he played baseball and it's what he loves. He is all ready on top of everything: researching different ideas for coaching 5 and 6 year olds, calling all his players' parents, found his assistant coaches and team mom, and even all ready found his sponsor. I'm proud of him! I just think that I am going to have to keep reminding him that these are children and not pro-baseball players - ha!
I think I said earlier, but Nathan is doing sooo good. I was a little worried last night because he keeps having dirty diapers that are super black (which is blood passing through), so I called the on-call dr. He was shocked to hear Nathan's story and the fact that he needed a blood transfusion and he said that it sounded like Nathan lost a lot of blood so I should expect those kind of diapers for a few days. Of course, if there is any fresh blood I should immediately come to the hospital. We see our regular ENT dr. on the 16th and I probably won't relax until then. Actually, I probably won't relax for about another 6 months from now and then maybe I'll feel like we're in the clear!
Well, I hear a bubble bath and Lifetime movie calling my name so I'm signing off now!
Have a beautiful day tomorrow!
***I know this last paragraph is annoyingly long, but I keep putting spaces to break it up and for some reason it just keeps taking out the spaces! ~Sorry!***

Yesterday in Words

Sean and Lauren did lots of playing with cars while grandma prepared dinner and daddy & Nathan took a nap.

The dogs hung out in the kitchen waiting for grandma to sneak them some food sleeping.

Nathan woke up very grouchy.

Grandma had gone to the store for a few items for dinner. She asked me if we needed snacks and I said "sure, get whatever you feel like" and she came back with 50 pounds of candy, cookies, and brownies.

Daddy held Lauren while Sean played games on the TV while we finished up dinner.

Nathan cheered up.

Daddy rented us some movies to watch.

Grandma gave the dogs some loving since they are so spoiled so good.

Dinner: ham, potato salad, broccoli and cheese casserole, deviled eggs, and yeast roles. Nathan decided to eat off his plate like a puppy. Lauren had green beans and carrots and didn't think that I made enough for her to eat.

Lauren got a bath and enjoyed putting her feet up and soaking for awhile.

We all piled on the couch to watch cartoons and read books.

Daddy got caught looking at mustangs on the internet.

We put the boys to bed.

Ahhh..finally all kids asleep and peace and quiet filled the house!

A Really Good Day

Today was a really good day.

We started off with Nathan waking up at 5:30am. I laid on the couch with him and fell back asleep, thinking that he would do the same. He didn't. And he raided the candy bag.

I got up and cooked the kids breakfast. Which Nathan didn't eat since he was so full on candy.

Nathan was grouchy and into everything and Sean started acting the same way. I was determined that I was not going to get grouchy over this.

At 10:30am, Nathan went down for a nap. I fed Lauren her lunch and put her down for her nap. Sean and I worked out together. (Sean lasted longer than I did on the workout -ha!)

I made Lauren some green beans, sweet potatoes, and carrots. I am making her baby food from scratch and I am loving it. It is so easy and I love that it is fresh and organic. I steam everything and then puree it. Then I pour it into ice cube trays to freeze:

Once frozen, I pop out the cubes and put them into freezer bags. I take out 2 cubes for her meals and let them defrost and she's ready to eat!

Once Nathan woke up, I sent the boys to play outside in the backyard while I cleaned house. The weather was absolutely beautiful and perfect today. I opened all the windows and the boys were having a blast playing outside. I got the house all clean and swept and mopped the floors.

I'm not kidding you, as soon as I finished mopping, I turn around and Nathan is standing right behind me soaked and covered in mud. Behind him is a trail of muddy footprints. Sigh.

I undressed the boys and gave them a bath and re-mopped the floor. Sent them to their room to play.

I cooked dinner and it was so good. We are trying to eat a lot healthier. Nothing fried and lots of yummy steamed veggies.

I've got all our lunches made and ready for tomorrow. The house is surprisingly still clean and I'm working on a few loads of laundry.
We are getting ready to put the kids in bed and watch our new favorite show!

So, nothing really special about today - just a happy, wonderfully blessed day!

I hope everyone else had a wonderful day!

The Ugly Truth About My Weekend

Yesterday started out as a good day. I made the kids breakfast and played with them. When Lauren went down for her nap at 11am, I cleaned the living room. This took me three hours to do because of all the toys to pick up, the kids wanting a drink, the dusting that had to be done, the kids wanting a snack, the kids fighting, the sweeping I had to do, the kids bringing out more toys, the kids fighting, and finally the mopping.

I finished at 2pm right before Lauren woke up from her nap. I thought, ok I will take a break and when Mark gets home from work I will hurry and finish cleaning the rest of the house while he plays with the kids, then we will have our family time.

Then at 3pm, the phone rang...

Mark called to say that he had to work late and I just lost it. I mean really lost it. I cried and screamed and yelled and cried and cried, but to my dismay it didn't change the fact that he had to work trouble. I know it's not his fault, but I was so mad.

Mark has worked Saturdays since we have been married, and even before then. I should be used to it. I actually enjoyed it before we had kids. I would have Saturdays to do my thing, we would have Sundays together, and he would have Mondays to do his own thing while I worked.

But, since having kids and becoming a SAHM, Saturdays are the loneliest days for me. All my SAHM friends that I talk to and see during the week are with their husbands on Saturdays doing family things. I am here with the kids all day by myself with no one to talk to! Yes, I know it may sound childish, but it's how I feel. I hate Saturdays!

So, I cried for the rest of the afternoon and gave up on the cleaning because I was so mentally and physically worn out. By the time Mark got home at midnight I was an emotional mess and you couldn't even tell that I had spent 3 precious hours cleaning the living room.

We hardly talked and went to bed.

This morning I woke up fine until I went into the living room and realized that I was going to have to spend our only day as a family cleaning, and washing clothes, and doing laundry. I really got grouchy. I didn't say anything, but I think the scowl on my face gave it away.

Mark asked me what was wrong and that was so the wrong thing to do. I immediately started picking a fight with him and pushing buttons. We had one of those fights about who does what and who doesn't do this and who does the most and who sits on the couch too much and who takes out the trash.

I told Mark that I was going to show him what all I do by doing NOTHING! I stormed off to the bedroom and slammed the door, threw myself across the bed, and waited for him to come in after me to apologize. He didn't. And I fell asleep.

I woke up at 2pm, and Mark had cleaned the house, fed the kids lunch, and was doing laundry. He asked for my list to go to the grocery store and did all the grocery shopping. He put the groceries away and he cooked dinner.

At first, I felt kinda smug about it all thinking "Humph! That will show you all that I have to do and I have to do it all the time!"

Then, I felt guilty. I hate fighting with my husband. I don't think he completely understands what I deal with day after day because he's not a SAHM. And just by doing it one day doesn't give him the real feel of it. But, I probably don't completely understand what his job is like and what working the overtime is like and then coming home to a messy house and grumpy wife is like.

We've worked it out and we've prayed together about it. We may not be able to get the full realization of what the other one goes through on a daily basis, but we're going to try and be more understanding with each other.

And before you think I am the worst wife ever, I did apologize to my husband for my childish behavior, thank him a million times for the day off, and promise him a golf day!

And I've all ready said that one of my New Years Resolutions is to respect my husband more and be a better housekeeper and I am really going to work on that!

To end on a happier, funnier note: Nathan has been peeing in the potty every so often the past week or so. I am not pushing the potty training right now because I want to wait until after his surgery, but he does go sometimes on his own. Well, every time after he pees, he wipes his butt with toilet paper, yells "All done", and flushes! I keep trying to tell him he doesn't have to wipe his BUTT when he pees, but he still does! ha ha!

Doctor's Visit

The boys had a doctor appointment on Friday for their three and five year well checks. Lauren was going to stay with a friend of mine, but I decided to take her since we have all been coughing and having runny noses I wanted to the dr. to check her out too. I thought that I could brave this alone. I take care of all three of them by myself all day long. I've taken all three of them to store by myself. It didn't seem like a big deal at all. I. Will. Never. Do. That. Again. Never.

Sean is so terrified of the dr. that he started crying as soon as we walked in the door. He wanted me to hold him and sit in my lap the entire time. He is half my size! Lauren was screaming the whole time wanting to be held. Nathan was running around the waiting room, picking up the phone, opening and slamming doors.

Finally, we got called back into a room. We stop at the weight station. Sean falls to floor screaming. Lauren is still screaming. Nathan is running.

After about 15 minutes, we were able to get their weight and height. Off to the room we go. Sean needs to go with the nurse to check his vision and hearing. He is screaming. Lauren is still screaming. Nathan has a dirty diaper. The nurse finally gets Sean to go with her by promising him a sticker. I change Nathan's diaper and Lauren is still screaming. The nurse comes back with Sean and assures me that the dr. will be here in just one minute.

We wait. And wait. Lauren is screaming. Sean is crying and wanting in my lap. Nathan is opening the door. And slamming the door. I pick up Lauren and get everyone to sing and that keeps us busy for about 2 minutes. Nathan tries standing in the dr.'s chair to play in the sink. Sean is crying again. I put Lauren down to deal with the boys. Lauren is screaming.

After about 15 minutes, the dr. finally comes in. Sean is back in my lap crying and Nathan is back to slamming doors as I try to talk to the dr. It's time for her to examine Sean. Very loud screaming. I have to hold Sean down just for her to check his ears, throat, and listen to his heart. Finally, he is done and sits in the chair while she examines Nathan. Lauren is still screaming.

She checks out Lauren and Lauren is quiet and happy then. No one needed shots that day. Yay! Oh. Wait. Sean hasn't had his flu shot yet so we need to do that. Very loud screaming and yelling.

The nurse comes in to give Sean his shot. I have to lay my body across him to keep his arms down as the nurse grabs his legs. Lots of screaming by both Sean and Lauren.

An hour and half later, we walk out of there. Kids are happy, and I am crying and silently screaming.

***************************************************************************

* Sean weighed 48.2 pounds (90 - 95%) and is 44 1/2 inches tall (75 - 90%). He is perfectly fine and healthy!

* Nathan weighed 36.1 pounds (75 - 90%) and is 39 inches tall (75 - 90%). He still has an ear infection that he has been battling for over a month now. The dr. also thinks that his tonsils are larger than normal and that is probably why he snores and sleeps so restless. We will be seeing an ENT on December 8.

* Poor Lauren did have an ear infection in each ear. She is on medicine and all ready seems to be doing better.

A Day in the Life of the Bazmores

* We have 5 alarm clocks that go off every morning. FIVE. And we still don't ever hear them to get up on time. SO, Mark had to rush off to work this morning to make it on time. I never heard the alarm clocks and I never even heard Mark leave. We've always been this way. I can hear the tiniest sound that one of my babies make in their sleep, but I can't hear 5 blaring alarms going off all at once.

* I woke up to find Nathan sitting at the table eating BBQ Sauce. Yes, BBQ Sauce. He had emptied the bottle onto a paper plate and was eating it with a spoon.

* I fixed some waffles for breakfast. I used syrup, not BBQ Sauce.

* I cleaned the kitchen and swept the floor.

* It was a beautiful day and the weather was absolutely wonderful so we went outside to play.

* The kids decided to play inside my car instead of playing with the hundreds of toys they have outside. So, I cleaned out the car while they played.

* We came inside for lunch after much screaming to stay outside.

* While I was making them P&J sandwiches, Nathan dumped a brand new box of Cheerios in the middle of the living floor.

* Nathan said "nice" in a surfer dude kind of way. Sean said "it's like a party in here mom, can we leave it all here?". No Sean...

* I swept the floor.

* We ate lunch.

* I swept the floor.

* The boys painted.

* I mopped the floor.

* Nathan went down for a nap, Sean watched "Babies" (Rugrats) and I played with Lauren.

* Nathan woke up and the boys asked only one million times if we could go back outside, so we did.

* They played on their bikes for about 5 minutes and then it was back to the car.

* Lauren laid out in the sun and sucked her thumb.

* Mark came home and I left for a girl's night out!

* I turned on the car and the windshield wipers were going crazy, my blinker was on, my brights were on, and the radio was blaring.

* I met my good friend for some manis and pedis and then off we went to the mall and then had dinner at Pappasitos.

* I came home and my wonderful hubby had all three kiddos asleep.

* I swept the floor.

* It was a wonderful day and now I am off to bed!
